The Reason for the Season

Have a very merry Christmas! I hope you are spending it with family, friends and all those that mean everything to you! And while you are wrapped in the love of those around you remember the reason for the season.

                                

10 years later...

My father passed away 10 years ago tomorrow. It is strange to type that...I can't believe it has been 10 years since I have heard his voice, his laugh or his whistle. He was full of humor, wisdom and emotion, something he didn't like. He was of that generation that was not supposed to show their emotions. I am a lot like him, I love to laugh, hope to have wisdom and I am filled with emotion. I can't not cry no matter how hard I try! I always felt bad for my dad because he felt he had to leave the room so we could not see the tears. He loved us SO much and we all felt it.

When he passed away the real estate office I worked at, sent me a floral arrangement. It is a silk arrangement because I was away at the funeral. It is beautiful and I put it out every year and think of him and those that sent it. Memories, family and friends...it is what makes our lives rich and worthwhile.

Pause...

With all the hustle and bustle of the season, remember to take time to pause and ENJOY! Family and friends and of course the real reason for the season are meant to be enjoyed.

Memories

This is one of my husbands favorite Christmas decorations. It belonged to his mother. She passed away in 2006 and we have put it out every year since. It reminds us of SO many Christmas with her. Memories are what the holidays are to me. Are you taking time to make memories?

Hello Bedford Falls!

I am in love with Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It is just so lovely in December. Absolutely reminds me of Bedford Falls. We were not able to go last year as my hubster was having his heart surgery. So I am so grateful that we are able to travel there this year.
