I love this project!! A fabulous mother of 7 came to me with an idea. To create a "creation room" for her children! Her beautiful home has a formal dining room off the foyer. The space is wonderful, but as she told me they don't have many formal dinners with 7 kids 13-1 yrs. This is way too much real estate to have unused or not used to its full potential! With that we had our initial meeting. She wanted a space that her children could well, create! They play instruments so they would need to practice in this space as well as do homework. One of the things I do at the first meeting of a redesign project is we go on a "treasure hunt". I walk thru the home and look for items that can be reused or repurposed. This proved to be very fruitful! Many items she had planned on disposing of were reused in the room. With her desires in mind, I set about putting together a plan. She is a very creative person so once she took a good look at the idea board, she was off! The room is fantastic and filled with repurposed items. This room truly proves that organization, beauty and style live very well together! This is one of my favorite projects!! NOTE: In the after pic the table in the middle was black and was in a basement storage room. The bench on the left side was a coffee table on its way to Goodwill. LOVE the treasure hunt!! The rug (2 rugs)were purchased from Goodwill and the brown chair in right corner from Salvation Army. It was spray painted with fabric paint. The light fixture
once was brassy now classy!
